Integrating Virtual Field Trips into the Classroom
Saturday October 26, 2024 9:45am - 10:35am PDT
Have you ever wanted to take your students on a field trip but district and school admin deny the request due to funding restrictions? Look no further! Parks Online Resources for Teachers and Students (PORTS) is here to save the day. With just under 100 program topics to choose from at 88 parks across California, there is no shortage of ways to bring the beauty of State Parks to your students in the classroom - no permission slips required.
The Inland Empire District Parks also offer multiple programs close to home. With Chino Hills State Park you can explore journaling styles, bird migrations, animal adaptations and STEAM exploration of park specimens, and at California Citrus State Historic Park you can explore the life of a migrant worker in the groves and learn about the history of citrus and how it came to California all from the comfort of your classroom.
We invite everyone - Teachers and Admin - to join us as we look at how these programs engage with students in the classroom and explore the resources now available on the PORTS site to make classroom integration even easier! we will also dive into how our programs are working hard to meet YOUR needs with new curriculum requirements for Ethnic Studies and Climate Change Education - and we want your input too.
